GA Forensics Daily: Clarifying Purpose (Admitting I was wrong…)

There’s been a very important comment on the transition that’s underway, and I want to publicly address it, as it’s something that will make or break the partnership that we’ve created.

Georgia Forensics Daily is for all of Georgia to come together and form an online community that we can all engage in. One of the reasons that I asked to partner with Jeff is to help realize the potential that the site has, and to give back.

The idea that this site is primarily for those in the Atlanta area, or is run by people in the area could not be further from the truth. Comments that I may have made about south Georgia appeared to have rubbed people the wrong way, and I want to clarify. The idea of south Georgia as a ‘hotbed of discourse’ is nothing more than my attempt to express the passion and respect that I have for that region, and a call for more news. In fact, more news and more voices all around is the goal, and to make this work, they’re absolutely essential. Georgia is, in my opinion, the state to be in for speech and debate right now, and we need to make our presence known in every way possible, and make it that we make our opponents nationally feel the power that we collectively have.

To those that I have turned off, I apologize. I took my passion far, and obviously I did not respect those I was targeting. I look forward to your comments (and please comment lots), and look forward to releasing the new Georgia Forensics Daily to the Georgia circuit.

If you want to comment, simply email me at brandon [at] gaforensics.com, google talk me at brandon.sheats [at] gmail [dot] com, aim me (britishkid06), or leave a post on Facebook, Cross-X and this post.

GradySpeaks partners with Georgia Forensics Daily

The GradySpeaks network has just secured a partnership with Georgia Forensics Daily to host and manage their website, adding it to the GradySpeaks family! Now all the same excellent coverage that GradySpeaks and Georgia Forensics Daily both provided separately will be joined under the same powerful framework that the entire GradySpeaks network uses. In the coming weeks, you’ll see various improvements to the GA Forensics Daily site, including forums, a results database, and much more.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be needing people around the state to report on various events. Like Jeff said, we’re looking for people to report on the Individual Events, Policy and Lincoln-Douglas and serve as those event editors.

With this transition, the question now is: what do you want out of the site? Do you want more commentary? Or is it just reslts that you’e looking for? Leave us comments.

Welcome to the next stage of GradySpeaks. With the joining of forces, we’re stronger than ever.
